Independent Living
This program provides hands-on support for day-to-day living and long-term self-sufficiency. Focus areas include:
- Health and safety practices 
- Problem-solving skills 
- Community participation 
- Confidence and self-advocacy 
Support activities may include:
- Grocery shopping and meal preparation 
- Laundry and housekeeping 
- Scheduling and attending medical appointments 
- Managing medications 
- Computer use and communication skills (e.g., letter writing) 
Independent Living Transition
The Transition program offers short-term financial support to adults moving from 24-hour care to more independent living. This one-time assistance helps cover essential move-in costs such as:
- Utility setup fees 
- Household goods and furnishings 
- Pest control or allergen remediation 
- Other initial occupancy needs 
Like the full-time Independent Living program, Transition services promote stability, independence, and meaningful community integration.

Supporting Adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities
Las Cumbres’ Independent Living and Independent Living Transition programs empower adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live as independently as possible while staying connected to their communities. Whether living alone or with family, participants receive personalized support to build life skills, maintain safety and health, and foster self-confidence.
