DBT Groups are on a temporary pause for facilitator training
What is DBT?
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) teaches skills for living mindfully in the moment, tolerating and coping with stress in healthy ways, regulating emotions, and developing more enriching relationships.
At the heart of DBT is the idea that progress in therapy often involves both self-acceptance and change.
Three basic assumptions of DBT:
· All things are interconnected.
· Change is constant and unavoidable.
· Opposites can be assimilated to form a closer estimation of the truth.
DBT also encourages the idea that a life worth living will have both comfortable and uncomfortable aspects:
· Happiness and Sadness
· Anger and Peace
· Hope and Discouragement
· Acceptance and Change
