Las Cumbres Community Services is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your contribution is tax-deductible.
Family Infant Toddler (FIT) Early Intervention (EI) providers deliver early intervention services to families with infants and toddlers up to age 3, who have, or are at risk for, delays in development. FIT/EI staff are specially trained and credentialed in early childhood development. Serving residents in Los Alamos, Santa Fe, and Rio Arriba Counties
When families come to us for FIT/EI services, a family service coordinator will first meet with them to understand their needs and schedule an assessment of their child’s development. Based on the results of the evaluation, a team will be assigned to the family and additional services will be offered to support the child’s physical, emotional, social and/or cognitive development . Goals will be outlined in an Individualized Family Service Plan that will be updated regularly in collaboration with the family. We work in multidisciplinary teams and partner with other organizations to best meet the needs of the family.
This program’s goal is to strengthen the capacity of families to meet the developmental and health-related needs of their infant or toddler. The FIT/EI staff usually work with children and families in their homes. Families are encouraged and mentored by staff to develop healthy, positive, and nurturing relationships with their children.
Family Infant Toddler services include:
Comprehensive Multidisciplinary Evaluations to assess infant and toddler development
Creation of an Individualized Family Service Plan
Family education on child development
Vision and hearing screening
Speech therapy, occupational therapy, and/or physical therapy
Nutrition and feeding support
Play groups
Connection to community resources and referrals
Our FIT/EI staff partner with families to create an Individualized Family Service Plan specific to their circumstances, values and culture. Staff can meet with families in their home, our offices or at another setting familiar to the child, and meeting times can be flexible to accommodate families’ schedules.
