Las Cumbres Community Services is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your contribution is tax-deductible.

Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health therapists have received specialized training in trauma-informed, evidence-based therapies for families with children ages prenatal to six. Services provided in Los Alamos, Santa Fe, and Rio Arriba.

Therapists are skilled at working with families who are struggling with multiple stressors and traumatic experiences. Services are designed to strengthen the relationship between the parent and their child as well as minimize the long-term impact of stress and trauma on the child’s development and overall well-being.

When families come to us for infant and early childhood mental health services, a therapist will first meet with them to understand their needs and develop a treatment plan. The family’s safety, stability, and other high-risk factors are always prioritized in treatment. The therapist and family will review the plan regularly and set new goals as treatment progresses. We often work in multidisciplinary teams and partner with other organizations to best meet the needs of the family.

Las Cumbres Community Services is a member of the National Child Traumatic Stress Network, which brings together the nation’s leading experts in child traumatic stress to work together to advance the care for children and families suffering from child trauma.

Our infant and early childhood mental health services include:

  • Early relationship assessment and support

  • Parent-child therapy

  • Individual Parenting sessions

  • Couples/Co-parenting sessions

  • Parent education and support

  • Therapeutic parenting groups

  • Resources and referrals for basic needs

Our therapists partner with families to create a support plan specific to their circumstances, values and culture. Therapists can meet with families in their home, our offices or at a community meeting place, and meeting times can be flexible to accommodate families’ schedules.
