Peach House in Los Alamos provides housing for residents in an environment that the adults quickly refer to simply as their “home”. Through accommodations at Peach House, the agency’s Supported Living Program offers round-the-clock services on site, making it possible for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live in a comfortable and well-maintained home setting. Residential living is broken into two sets of residences with private rooms and common areas.

Participants receive individualized support based on their different needs and preferences. Adults join in Special Olympics events, attend concerts, play sports, exercise at the local gym, are involved in arts and crafts events, and often go out to dinner and movies. A number of the residents also participate in Community Access outings listed under Adult Day Services.

Peach House was established as one of the agency’s inaugural programs in the early 1980s and has been functioning seamlessly since that time. A handful of residents moved into the Peach House after first receiving early Child and Family Services from the agency, and their families are now a part of our own.
