Can you HELP?
A majority of our expectant mothers do not have the basic items essential for their pregnancy and the preparation for their baby’s arrival. Donations are used to leverage existing economic resources to help expected mothers get back on the feet
Maternal navigators partner with pregnant women to improve maternal and child health – at birth and beyond. The program serves residents of Santa Fe and Rio Arriba counties.
Our first step is to schedule a meeting to understand our clients’ needs. Beginning with this meeting, our navigators work closely with moms to develop a service plan – one that prioritizes safety and respects clients’ circumstances, values and culture. Navigators have received specialized training in evidence-based parenting curriculums, lactation consultation, and many other topics.
Our services include:
Coordination and transportation to prenatal appointments and birthing classes
Connection to doulas
Breastfeeding information and lactation consultation
Nutrition support
Safety and child development
Connection to substance use treatment services
Resources and referrals for basic needs, financial assistance, housing, and more
Navigators can meet with moms at their homes, our offices, or at a community meeting place, and meeting times are flexible to accommodate client schedules. The ¡Que Cute! Healthy Baby Program is grateful to the funders who make this program possible. These supporters include Santa Fe County Community Services (as part of Santa Fe County Connect), the Community Health Funders Alliance, and RALI-NM
