The Las Cumbres Family Book Club is a remarkable initiative aimed at encouraging children's love for books while fostering a strong bond between caregivers and their 0-5 year-old kids. Organized by the Confident Parenting Home Visiting Program, this bilingual book club brings families together once a month, both in-person and virtually, to explore captivating stories and engage in delightful crafts.
Originating in Santa Fe, the Book Club quickly became a hit and eventually expanded to reach the hearts of families in Española as well. The inaugural Española Book Club was held at the Conjunto Therapeutic Preschool, where the attendees, including children and teachers, embraced the experience with joy. Conjunto Director, Johnna Aguino, expressed delight in the literary and math observations that sprouted during the club gatherings. The book club offered a perfect platform for learning and bonding, creating cherished memories for all.
The excitement continues in Española, where the club gatherings take place every second Thursday of the month, and in Santa Fe every third Thursday. Families eagerly await these special occasions, knowing they are in for a treat of delightful stories and fun craft activities.
The success of the Las Cumbres Family Book Club wouldn't have been possible without the support and collaboration of our partners. The Early Childhood Education & Care Department plays a crucial role in the Santa Fe Book Club. Meanwhile, the Española Book Club is made possible thanks to the gracious support of the Del Norte LOV Foundation.
As the book club grows in popularity and touches the lives of countless families, it leaves a lasting impact on the children's literary exploration and on the bonds shared between caregivers and their little ones. With each page turned and every craft created, the book club etches a mark of love and learning in the hearts of all involved, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever hold a special place in the lives of the families it touched.
